Marketing strategist & Mentor

I'm Alisha, founder of Folded Marketing, and the person behind everything taught in Folded Academy.

The life comes first. Everything else is built on it.

I founded Folded Marketing, a boutique agency on the Sunshine Coast working with fashion, beauty, lifestyle and ecommerce brands. I still build the strategies and run the campaigns myself.

I built it as a single mother within school hours, without a team for most of it, alongside an audience that has reached 2.1 million and counting.

What I learned is that the strategy was almost never the limiting factor. It was whether the week had a structure, whether I had slept, and whether the business had been built around a version of me that could be sustained.

That is what I teach here, in that order.

THE THINKING

I built it the way I was told to, first.

Strategy at the centre. Everything else arranged around it. Rest, movement and structure treated as things to be attended to once there was room, which there never was.

The strategies were sound. Some of them worked. What could not be sustained was me.

There were entire seasons where the plan was excellent and the execution was poor, and the difference had nothing to do with capability. I was tired. The week had no shape. I was making consequential decisions from a depleted position without recognising that I was doing it, because depletion does not announce itself, it simply lowers the standard of everything quietly, and you carry on believing the problem is the plan.

When I corrected that when sleep, movement, stillness and the architecture of a working week became things I protected ahead of the work rather than after it — the business results changed without the strategy changing at all.

That sequence is the entire thesis of this academy. Not because wellbeing is a pleasant addition to business education, but because it is the input that determines whether any of the rest of it holds.

How I Teach

The Approach

In sequence, and in plain language.

The order is the method. Foundations, then brand, then strategy. Attempted in any other order it produces a well-designed system that no one has the capacity to run.

No vocabulary for its own sake. If a term exists primarily to make the work sound more complex than it is, it does not appear in the material.

Everything arrives with the asset. Templates, frameworks, planning documents and scripts. You should not have to build the thing from scratch after being taught to build it.

Built for real conditions. Concise, implementable, and designed for interrupted days, because those are the days I work in as well.
